DAYS 1 - 2, Private Game Reserve, Cango Caves, Ostrich Farm
We head via Cape Agulhas, the most southerly point on the African continent and on through Albertina before a sunset game drive in search of the ‘Big Five’. Heading into the semi-arid Klein Karoo, we stop to enjoy an ostrich farm and the Cango Caves near Oudtshoorn.
DAY 3, Wilderness National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park
This morning we drive to the coast and canoe in the Wilderness National Park, bird spotting. We then travel along the Garden Route to Bloukrans Bridge to view or jump the world’s highest bungy jump before we walk the hanging bridge over the Storms River Mouth in the Tsitsikamma National Park.
DAY 4, Plettenburg Bay, Knysna, Swellendam
Today offers the option of a whale-watching boat trip (June - November) from Plettenberg Bay before continuing to Knysna for lunch. We overnight beside beautiful Buffeljags Dam near Swellendam.
DAY 5, Hermanus, Cape Town
The coastal route takes us to Hermanus for wine-tasting or an option to cage dive alongside great white sharks! From June to November whales enter Hermanus Bay to breed and can often be seen from the shore. Our route finally travels via Betty’s Bay – where we visit a penguin colony at Stony Point – and finishes in Cape Town.
