DAY 1, Moshi

From Nairobi travel by shuttle bus to Moshi in Tanzania, via Arusha. On arrival at your hotel our representative will give you a briefing on what to expect over the next few days of trekking the highest mountain in Africa.

DAYS 2 - 5, Mt Kilimanjaro Trek - MARANGU ROUTE

Several routes lead to the summit of Kilimanjaro (Uhuru Peak, 5895m). The most popular and easiest is the 5 - 6 day Marangu Route with initial gentle gradient trekking at low altitudes through forest and moorland. This route provides sleeping huts with beds and a small shop at most campsites. The 6 - 7 day Machame Route is the most scenic but physically more challenging with longer, steeper day treks and tent accommodation. On all routes the last push is tough, beginning just after midnight in sub zero temperatures, but the effort is well with once standing on the roof of Africa!

DAY 6, Descent, Moshi

Descending the mountain we reach the park gate, jubilant and head back to our hotel in Moshi for a well earned rest and sundowner!

DAY 7, Transfer to Nairobi

Transfer to Nairobi where the tour ends at around 6pm.
