DAY 1, Lilongwe, Lupande Game Management Area, South Luangwa National Park

Departing Lilongwe early we cross into Zambia and drive to our camp via the Lupande Game Management Area in South Luangwa. This is big game territory – so keep your eyes peeled! On afternoon and evening game drives, we search for zebra, elephant, leopard, lion and honey badger, as well as enjoying a sundowner at one of beautiful oxbow lagoons inside the park.

DAYS 2 - 4, South Luangwa National Park, Lupande Game Management Area

We explore South Luangwa National Park on early morning and afternoon game drives and night drive in the northern reaches of the park. We enjoy guided game walks through Lupande, with the option to spend a night bush camping beside the Luangwa River, and visit an animal rehabilitation centre to meet some of the wild animals the project is saving. During our lunchtimes, there is time to relax or take a dip in the pool.

DAY 5, Kakumbi Salt Pan, Cathedral Mopane Forest, Lilongwe

We enjoy breakfast in the Kakumbi Salt Pan, further inside South Luangwa, and game drive around the mopane forests for a final sight of giraffe and elephant and woodland birds before the end of our safari and transfer back to Lilongwe.
