Experience the beauty of South Africa's Garden Route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. Dramatic scenery, quaint seaside
towns and wildlife encounters.
Day 1 - 2, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn
From the vibrant city of Cape Town we head for Swellendam, via the Bontebok National Park. The park offers a diverse range of indigenous wildlife to see including more than 200 bird species. Next day we drive to Oudtshoorn and visit one of the more than 400 ostrich farms in this area. We learn about the largest bird in the world and even have an opportunity to ride one! This afternoon we explore the unusual limestone formations in the Cango Caves in a labyrinth of cathedral like spaces before visiting an aloe factory.
Day 3 - 4, Knysna
We have two days to relax and enjoy the many activities on offer in the picturesque seaside town of Knysna. Some options include riding on the restored steam train, the Outeniqua Choo-Choo (subject to availability), lagoon cruises, whale watching (in season), Monkeyland, or jump the worlds highest bungy jump at 216m at Bloukrantz River.
Day 5, Tsitsikamma National Park
Tsitsikamma is where temperate forests meet head on with the Indian Ocean. We explore this lush wonderland of tidal life, reefs, rivers and ravines on beautiful hikes. If we are lucky we may see dolphins playing in the breakers or the southern right whales coming close to shore to breed. A magical place.
Day 6 - 7, Addo Elephant Park, Port Elizabeth
After a lunch stop at the famous surf beach of Jefferies Bay, it's onto Addo Elephant Park where we enjoy an afternoon game drive followed by a morning game drive then next day before travelling the short distance to Port Elizabeth to be dropped off at your hotel or the local airport.
