A
great way to experience ‘real’ Africa by camping
out in the bush with the added luxury of walk-in safari tents
and camp staff to cook and clean for you.
Day
1, Jo'burg, Skukuza, Kruger NP
From Johannesburg, we make our way to Skukuza in the Kruger National
Park. This area offers excellent game viewing and you can expect
to see plains game, possibly lion, elephant and maybe the elusive
leopard. We stay off the beaten track and make our way to our overnight
camp. On arrival, enjoy a sundowner and dinner, before some exciting
night time game viewing by spotlight at a nearby waterhole.
Day 2 - 3, Kruger National Park
At the beginning of each day we get kick-started with coffee and
biscuits and an early morning game drive getting close to Kruger's
famous wildlife. We stop for a hearty brunch and relax at our
campsite until the afternoon cools down we continue our search
for the Big 5. From our privileged wilderness sites, in the company
of expert guides we have the freedom to access areas of the park
rarely visited. Chances of seeing one or all of the famed Big
5 are excellent. No safari to the Kruger would be complete without
visits to sites of historical and cultural importance. Sites
such as the Wolhuter memorial, Orpen Dam and the old transport
riders roads all add interest to the day's safaris and bring to
life the early pioneering days of the area. We return to camp
for dinner and spend part of the evening watching the nocturnal
visitors
to the nearby river.
Day 4, Johannesburg
Sleep in for a change and after breakfast drive back towards the
park gate via Skukuza and enjoy last minute sightings. Leaving
Kruger, we then make our way back to Johannesburg, arriving there
in the late afternoon, where the tour ends.
