Discover South Africa's hidden gems in an amazing 7 day tour that explores the Kalahari Desert on game drives which contrast sharply with the Cedarburg Mountains and Augrabies NP.
DAY 1, Stellenbosch, Cedarburg Mountains
Our first stop on tour is the wine producing region of Stellenbosch where we explore the historic town and visit a winery. This afternoon we continue towards the Cedarberg Mountains where we overnight at the Citrusdal hot springs.
DAY 2, Augrabies
Today we travel to Augrabies on the edges of the Kalahari Desert. The landscape is in stark contrast from where we have been and this afternoon we look out onto the Orange River, South Africa's longest river.
DAY 3 - 4, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
Together with the adjacent Gemsbok National Park in Botswana, this park comprises an area of over 3.6 million hectares - one of very few conservation areas of this magnitude left in the world. We spend our time here in search of wildlife, including the Kalahari Lion, the largest lion found in the world. We spend lots of time near waterholes as these are the best places to spot animals in this vast place. We also get the chance to explore the red sand dunes in search of more wildlife.
DAY 5, Fish River Canyon
Today we travel into Namibia reaching our campsite by lunchtime. This evening we head to the largest canyon in Africa, reputedly the second largest in the world - Fish River Canyon. We watch the colours and shadows reflected into the canyon change as the sun sets.
DAY 6 - 7, Orange River, Cape Town
A short drive takes us to the Orange River where we spend time canoeing on the river and cooling off in it! The following day we return to Cape Town arriving in the late afternoon where our tour ends.
