Capture the essence of Egypt with visits to magnificent archeological sites along the Nile River and the playground of the Sinai's Red Sea.
Day 1 - 2, Cairo, Pyramids and Sphinx
Your first day in Cairo is at leisure and the following day visit Cairo's famous Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza and the world class Egyptian Museum. In the evening catch the first class train to Aswan.
Day 3 - 4, Aswan, Felucca Cruise
Explore the sights around Aswan before taking a visit to a local Nubian village for an insight into the life and culture of the Nubian people. You can also take an optional excursion to Abu Simbel to see the incredible statues of Rameses (own expense).
Day 5 - 6, Felucca Sailing
A highlight of any Egypt trip is to take to the waters of the Nile in a traditional boat or felucca. Our Nubian crew members provide for us while you watch life along the river. At night sleep on the felucca and during the day sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.
Day 7 - 8, Luxor, West and East Banks
In Luxor we explore the temples covered with hieroglyphics and learn the stories of the ancient Egyptian god's in this virtual open air museum. Karnak Temple and the Pharaoh's rock-hewn tombs in the valleys of the Kings are highlights visit here.
Day 10 - 11, Hurghada, Nuweiba, Red Sea
We take a public bus to Ad-Dahar, just north of the main tourist resort of Hurghada, where we enjoy the lively atmosphere found here. The next day we catch a ferry to the Sinai. This is a harsh and barren desert land of sprawling windswept plains and rugged mountains that also boasts fantastic golden sands, turquoise sea and swaying palms. We have two days relaxing and chilling out on the beach.
Days 12 - 13, Mt Sinai, Cairo
Mt Sinai is where it's said the Ten Commandments were revealed to Moses and we start our trek from St. Catherine Monastery at the base of the mountain. The monastery of St. Catherines is built around the burning bush that spoke to Moses and has been a place of Christian pilgrimage since the 4th Century.
Day 14 - 15, Cairo
Back in Cairo we enjoy a guided walk through the popular parts of the city including the Khan aal-Khalili bazaar. Our tour ends after breakfast on day 15.
