DAY 1, Pilgrims Rest, Gods Window
Travel to Mpumalanga to explore scenic wonders such as Gods Window, the 65 meter high Mac Mac Falls and the quaint pioneering gold mining town of Pilgrim's Rest.
DAY 2 - 3, Kruger National Park
We spend two nights in Kruger National Park, and with cameras and binoculars at the ready, explore the untamed wilderness on game drives in search of the Big 5 - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino.
DAY 4, Kingdom of Swaziland, Malolotja
Today we cross into the highlands of the Kingdom of Swaziland to the Malolotja Nature Reserve, a wild region of mountains and forest. The best way to explore is by foot in search of the various small animals and birdlife found here.
DAY 5 - 6, Mkuze, Zulu cultural experience
Returning to South Africa after checking out the Mbabane Markets, we head into KwaZulu Natal to explore the Mkuze Game Reserve, a safe haven for the endangered black rhino. We also take time out to visit a local Zulu village to learn more about these proud people.
DAY 7 - 8, Drakensberg Mountains
The Drakensberg are known as the 'Barrier of Spears' in the Zulu language and are today a World Heritage Site. Known for their outstanding natural beauty, vertical rock faces, grassy alpine slopes and thundering waterfalls.
DAY 9 - 11, Wild Coast, Addo National Park
We travel through green rolling hills and Xhosa villages and spend two nights on the rugged and remote Wild Coast with its wide swathes of empty beaches and the get close to the large herds of elephant in Addo Elephant National Park.
DAY 12 - 14, Garden Route
We reach the Garden Route and stop at the Tsitsikamma National Park, an area of exquisite forest and pounding waves and visit the resort town of Knysna. We cross the Outeniqua Mountains to Oudtshoorn, and then visit the world renowned Cango Caves and have some fun at an ostrich farm
DAY 15 - 17, Stellenbosh, Cape Town
We get the chance to sample some fine South African wines and ports in Stellenbosh and spend our final days exploring Cape Town, Cape Point and peninsular.
