Discover the best game parks of East Africa on this comprehensive two week safari. Mix in a sprinkling of cultural experiences to make the perfect blend of wildlife and people. Day 1 - 4, Nairobi, School Visit, Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha
Upon arrival in Nairobi make your way to our accommodation to overnight. Leaving Nairobi early the following morning we visit a rural Kenyan school before travelling on to Lake Nakuru National Park to enjoy an afternoon game drive. We admire the pink swathes of flamingos on the soda lake and if lucky might see a pride of lions languishing in the shade,
or leopard in the acacia trees. The following day we enjoy a morning game drive in the park before travelling the short distance to Lake Naivasha. This fresh water lake supports an abundance of birdlife alongside hippo that languish on the lake shore. There are many optional activities to enjoy in the area including a boat trip, walking in the nearby Hells Gate National Park or simply relaxing and admiring the views of the lake.
Day 5 - 7, Loita Hills, Masai Village, Masai Mara
Today we travel across the Great Rift Valley floor into the Loita Hills where we camp the Masai people and learn about their traditional lifestyle. The Masai Mara is many people's image of quintessential Africa. The open grassland is home to a huge variety of wildlife, and our time here is spent on game drives exploring the savannahs teaming with wildlife.
Day 8, Masai Mara, Nairobi
Heading north we pass bustling, vibrant Masai markets en route to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. We check into our hotel and the evening is yours at leisure.
Day 9 - 12, Kisii, Lake Victoria, Serengeti NP
From Nairobi, we travel west through vast tea growing regions on our way to Africa's largest lake, Victoria. We arrive here on day two and set up camp on the lake's shores. Onward to the open savannahs of the famous Serengeti National Park, whose plains are amongst the finest game viewing areas in the world with an abundance of wildlife, especially big cats. We have two days to explore this vast park on morning and afternoon game drives.
Day 13 - 14, Serengeti NP, Olduvai Gorge, Ngorongoro Crater, Moshi
We enjoy the Serengeti on a game drive out of the park which takes up most of the morning before making our way to Olduvai Gorge, home to earliest man. The following morning we descend the dramatic walls of the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site that supports one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa in a space that's only a little over 22km wide. This afternoon we camp in the market village of Mta Wa Mbu.
Day 15, Nairobi
Today we travel back to Nairobi, via Arusha, where the tour ends
