Make your way up to the mighty Victoria Falls from Johannesburg via Kruger National Park, South Africa's premier wildlife park.
DAY 1, Blyde River Canyon, Animal Orphanage, Private Game Reserve, Oliphants River
Leaving Johannesburg behind we enter the land of the rising sun, Mpumalanga. Here we travel the panoramic route to take in many breathtaking sights. Blyde River Canyon is the third largest in the world and as we view its beauty from high on a vista we can also see the lowveld of the Greater Kruger region unfold before us. After lunch we visit an animal orphanage before travelling through a private game reserve to camp on the banks of the Oliphants River. We will experience our first glimpses of wildlife here as animals come to the river to drink tonight. What an exciting way to start our safari.
DAYS 2 - 3, River Game Cruise, Kruger National Park, Historical Village
We rise to the sound of nature and embark on a river game cruise spotting many species of animals having their morning drink including hippo, elephant, various antelope and if we are lucky, lion. After a light breakfast we travel to the world renowned Kruger National Park. This is big game territory; hopefully we will see some of the Big 5 - elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and the buffalo. We spend our time here game driving in the mornings and late afternoons and get the chance to visit a Historical Village. We travel to the less frequented northern parts of Kruger to get away from the crowds. Ironically this is probably what the wildlife we are pursuing is doing! Whilst in the park you have the option of going on an early morning guided game walk or night drive (subject to availability, own expense).
DAY 4, Kruger National Park, Polokwane
Game Reserve
We complete our Kruger experience with an early morning game drive before heading north to Polokwane Game Reserve. More than 21 species of animal inhabit this scenic reserve and we get out and explore what the park has to offer on foot.
DAYS 5 - 7, Nata, Livingstone
Botswana is a vast country known for its small population and large wilderness areas hosting huge herds of elephant. We have a couple of days transiting through Botswana, skirting the edges of the Makgadigadi Pans and driving through Kasane. We cross into Zambia and after a short drive reach our camp on the banks of the mighty Zambezi. Downstream the Victoria Falls plunges into the
Batoka Gorge in a dramatic and thrilling spectacle of white water and is a highlight of any trip to Africa We visit the Falls the day before the tour finishes.
