This tour has an amazing itinerary with a mix of historic sights, stunning landscapes with time to lay back and relax.
Days 1 - 2, Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes
After spending the first night in Casablanca we travel a short distance to the fortified town of Rabat, the country's capital. Here you will visit the various places of interest which date back to Roman times on a walking tour. We then board the train to Meknes to overnight.
Days 3 - 4, Meknes, Fes
We have the morning free to explore the Moorish city of Meknes before travelling to the ancient site of Volubillis and then onto Fes. You are free to explore the many narrow alleyways and souks of the old city. The Medina is so vast you may want to employ a local guide to get you easily from A to B via many market stalls.
Day 5 - 6, Sahara Desert
We travel across the Middle Atlas and it takes us a couple of days to get to Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara desert but the journey is well worth it as we stay in a Berber desert camp. Before dinner we set out on camels into the desert, and up onto dune ledges to enjoy a magnificent sun set. The open fire and starry sky make the perfect backdrop for ancient Berber songs our hosts will sing to us tonight.
Day 7 - 8, Todra Gorge
Today we head for the Atlas Mountains and the Todra Gorge, sometimes described as Morocco's Grand Canyon. We spend a day exploring the region on foot.
Day 9, Valley of 1000 Kasbahs, Ait Benhaddou
Travelling westward, we pass the Dades Gorge and onto El Kelaa de M'Gouna. We drive through the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs and past the town of Ouarzazate and onto Ait Benhaddou. A World Heritage site the fortified village is a fine example of clay architecture, featuring in numerous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Romancing the Stone and more recently, Gladiator.
Day 10, Imil, Armed
We travel over the spectacular Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, the highest road pass over the Atlas Mountains and on to the scenic Toubkal National Park and the village of Imlil. We walk to Armed for panoramic views of the mountains, valleys and waterfalls.
Days 11 - 12, Essaouira
You have the best part of a day and a half to relax on the Atlantic coast at Essaouira. The area is known for its its colourful markets and chilled out atmosphere.
Day 13 - 15, Marrakech
We make our way to bustling Marrakech. The days are at leisure to visit the many colourful souks and the renowned Djemma el Fna Square, the main market where Arabs and Berbers come to sell their wares, gossip and drink mint tea. Arrangements end after breakfast on Day 15.

Whilst in hotels we use twin bedded rooms normally with private facilities. The desert camp is basic and with the choice of sleeping under canvass or the stars, multi-share or dorm style mountain hut with shared facilities
