Sand Dunes and game parks are only two of the special sights to see in Namibia. This tour will show you a whole lot more including ancient culture, rugged coastline and adventure.
Days 1 - 3, Rehoboth, Namib Desert, Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon
We travel south into the Namib Desert to our camp adjoining the Namibrand Nature Reserve. Extensive guided walks and both day and evening game drives gives us a better understanding of the ecology of the desert. Next day a short morning walk begins our day prior to packing up camp and then venturing through the desert to Sesriem Canyon and onward to Sossusvlei, the brightly coloured unique dunes measuring up to 300 metres in height. A 4x4 takes us there where we have the opportunity to climb one of these awesome dunes before going on to camp wild in the desert.
Days 4 - 5, Swakopmund
Before reaching the coastal activity town of Swakopmund we cross through the Namib Naukluft Park to visit the lunar landscape and welwitscha plants. We spend two nights in the centrally located Swakopmund inn and enjoy one evening out at a local restaurant (own expense). There are plenty of adrenaline optional activities to enjoy.
Day 6 - 7, Skeleton Coast, Spitskop,
Twyfelfontein, Palmwag
Our next destination is the Cape Cross Seal Colony. There are thousands of Cape Fur Seals making this one of the largest colonies in the world. Impressive Spitskop is next where we camp amongst this unusual outcrop of boulders. Crossing the Grootberg we set up camp at Palmwag, one of the waterholes used by the rare Desert Elephant.
Day 8 - 9, Himba, Epupa Falls
Early start to venture deep into the Kaokoveld to explore this wilderness and to search for the nomadic tribe of Himba people who exist by wandering from waterhole to waterhole in search of sustenance for their livestock. We camp for two nights close to the Angolan border at Epupa Falls on the banks of the Cunene River.
Day 10 - 11, Etosha National Park
We spend two nights in Etosha in search of the big game. A highlight on one of the nights to spend at a flood lit water hole and watch the numerous variety game come into drink in their pecking order. Extensive game drives will be conducted within the park.
Day 12, Etosha, Windhoek
A morning departure from the park for our journey back to the capital Windhoek where we anticipate arriving in the early evening.
