Discover the Great Rift Valley's lakes attracting a huge array of bird and wildlife to its shores. Add the Masai Mara for great safari experiences. Day 1 - 2, Nairobi, School Visit, Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru
Upon arrival in Nairobi make your way to our accommodation to overnight. Leaving Nairobi early the following morning our first visit is to learn about the difficulties and success stories of education in a rural Kenyan school. Then it's on to Lake Nakuru National Park to enjoy an afternoon game drive and admire the pink swathes of flamingos on the soda lake and and if we are lucky we might see a pride of lion languishing in the shade, or leopard in acacia trees.
Day 3 - 4, Lake Naivasha
We have an early morning game drive in Nakuru before travelling the short distance to Lake Naivasha. This fresh water lake supports an abundance of birdlife alongside hippo that languish on the lake shore. There are many optional activities to enjoy in the area including a boat trip on the lake, walking in the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park or relaxing and admiring the surrounding views.
Day 5, Loita Hills, Masai Village
Today we travel across the Great Rift Valley floor into the Loita Hills where we camp near the Masai people and learn about their traditional lifestyle. This is an eye opening visit providing an insight into the daily lives of these proud people.
Day 6 - 7, Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is many people's image of quintessential Africa. The open grassland is home to a huge variety of wildlife, and the awesome annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra is the highlight of any visit to Africa from July to September. We spend our time here on game
drives exploring nature’s best found on these undulating savannahs.
Day 8, Masai Mara, Nairobi
Heading north we pass bustling, vibrant Masai markets to Nairobi where our safari ends in the late afternoon
