Feel the heart of Tanzania's best game parks and get close to nature by camping in conservation areas. But there's no roughing it on this tour!
Day 1, Arusha
From Kenya's capital Nairobi travel across the Tanzania border to Arusha, the safari capital of this country where we overnight in hotel accommodation.
Day 2, Lake Manyara
We travel a short distance to Lake Manyara National Park, dominated by the scenic Lake Manyara, while the remaining slice is marshes, grassland and acacia woodland. We enjoy an afternoon game drive here.
Day 3 - 4, Serengeti NP
Onward to the open savannahs of the famous Serengeti National Park, whose plains are amongst the finest game viewing areas in the world with an abundance of wildlife, especially big cats. We have two days to explore this vast park on morning and afternoon game drives.
Day 5 - 6, Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge
We enjoy the Serengeti on a game drive out of the park before making our way to Olduvai Gorge, home to earliest man before continuing to our camp overlooking the Ngorongoro Crate floor. The next morning we descend the dramatic walls of the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site that supports one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa in a space that's only a little over 22km wide. It's the largest intact caldera in the world, containing everything necessary for the thousands of animals that inhabit the crater floor to exist and thrive.
Day 7 - 9, Tarangire National Park, Arusha, Nairobi
For our last game viewing experience we travel to Tarangire National Park, a small park by Tanzanian standards, but with an unrivalled landscape of open plains dotted with thousands of baobab trees and is home for some exceptionally large herds of elephant - up to 300 at a time. We leave the National Park behind and visit a Masai village to learn more about this fascinating culture before stopping in Arusha. On our final day we travel back to Nairobi where the tour ends.
