An
adventurous and exclusive walking safari in Kruger, combined with
a few relaxing days on an idyllically tropical island off the coast
of Mozambique.
Day 1, Greater Kruger National Park, private
reserve
Travelling through the highveld farming area onto Mpumalanga, we
head towards Kruger National Park. On our first afternoon we enjoy
a game walk followed by a night drive in search of nocturnal animals
by spotlight. We return to camp at sunset and enjoy a hearty meal
around the open fire.
Day 2 - 3, Greater Kruger National Park
Over the next two days we explore the reserve on early morning game
drives, night drives and by foot on walking safaris, hoping to spot
some or all of the Big 5, as well as the equally interesting smaller
animals and birds. We begin our days at sunrise when the animals
are at their most active, and end back at camp for sunset, drinks
and dinner.
Day 4, Crocodile River
Today we head out of the park and explore the Panorama region, and
the view points along the Blyde River Canyon - the third largest
canyon in the world. From here we drive to our lodge on the banks
of the Crocodile River on the southern edge of Kruger.
Day 5, Mozambique, Inhaca Island
In the morning we cross the border into Mozambique and head to the
country’s vibrant capital Maputo. After a brief city tour
there is the option of enjoying a lunch of fresh seafood for which
Mozambique is famous for. Catch a small plane from Maputo to the
Indian Ocean island of Inhaca, an island with beautiful tropical
beaches and extensive coral reefs.
Day 6, Inhaca Island
Enjoy today at your remote and idyllic resort with its perfect swathe
of white sand beach, inviting swimming pool, and luscious tropical
gardens. For the more active, there is a full range of optional
water sports on offer, including deep sea game fishing, snorkelling
and windsurfing.
Day 7, Maputo
After another morning enjoying Inhaca, return to Maputo by plane
and enjoy the rest of the day in this exciting city. You can enjoy
beers and Mozambique’s famous spicy peri-peri prawns, or the
nightlife that has a distinctively Latin feel.
Day 8, Johannesburg
Our final day is spent heading back to Johannesburg where the tour
ends.
