An
unusual way of spotting the wildlife of Kenya, on a white water
rafting trip along the Athi River - spend 3 nights camping on sand
banks, and raft along 80km of game rich water.
Day
1, Nairobi
After your arrival at Nairobi’s airport, you are met and transferred
to the Norfolk Hotel, Nairobi’s oldest and most renowned hotel.
Day
2, Athi River
From Nairobi you are transferred to the start of the rafting trip
on the Athi River, and will be taught the essential skills of white
water rafting. We take an afternoon float for about 10km and enjoy
the unique experience of game viewing from a raft, on the look out
for bushbuck, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, and crocodile along the
waters edge.
Day
3, Athi River
Today is a full day’s rafting with a series of Grade 2 and
3 white water rapids, and two big drops of Grade 4 rapids.
Day
4, Athi River
Today is another full day’s rafting through the extraordinary
scenery of the Athi River, and we travel 25km over more exciting
rapids surrounded by jungle vegetation, before another night camping
out in the wilderness.
Day
5, Nairobi
After a total of 80km rafting, we leave the Athi River and return
to Nairobi in time for a late lunch. Have the afternoon to relax
by the pool before your return transfer to Nairobi’s airport
to meet your connecting flight.
