The combined region of Tanzania’s northern circuit parks is one of Africa’s largest natural habitats for big game. This tour takes in rewarding wildlife viewing on the vast sun-baked plains in search of the 'Big 5', while lakes, acacia forests and rocky outcrops, harbour numerous other animals and birds.
Day 1-2 Moshi, Lake Manyara National Park
From Nairobi, we travel by shuttle bus into Tanzania and to the town of Moshi, which lies in the shadow of Mt Kilimanjaro. The following day we head to Lake Manyara National Park, which comprises of scenic Lake Manyara, which is fringed pink with flamingos, as well as areas of marshes, grassland and acacia woodland. We enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park, hoping to spot an array of birdlife as well as elephant, lion, leopard and antelope.
Day 3-4 Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti National Park
We stop at Olduvai Gorge where fossils and remnants of early man have been found, before continuing on to the savannah of the famous Serengeti National Park. The park is one of the finest wildlife viewing areas in the world, and is home to the ‘Big 5’, as well as numerous other game species and an array of birdlife.
Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater
After a final morning drive, we travel on to our camp near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera on earth and a World Heritage Site, which supports one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa. We enjoy sensational views of the crater floor before descending into the park for rewarding wildlife viewing.
Day 6 Arusha, Nairobi
A shuttle bus takes us back to Nairobi, from Arusha, where the tour ends.
