Timeless Tanzania with Acacia Africa

Day 1-2 Nairobi, Arusha, Lake Manyara National Park
From Nairobi, we take a shuttle bus to Arusha in Tanzania and arrive in the afternoon. The next day we are met by our safari crew and vehicle and set off to the Lake Manyara National Park via a Masai village market. Lake Manyara offers us our first game drive experience and with luck we will see a wide array of animals and birdlife around the picturesque lake. The edge of the lake itself is tinged pink by the thousands of flamingos that feed there.

Day 3-4 Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti NP
We traverse the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands, and stopping at the Olduvai Gorge en route, where fossils and many other relics of early man have been excavated, we descend on to the rolling savannah of the world famous Serengeti National Park. From here we explore the Serengeti plains, which are home to a wide variety of animals and rich in predators, especially lion.

Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater
Today we game drive out of the Serengeti to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, home to the densest concentrations of animals in Africa, including the ‘Big 5’. The crater is a World Heritage Site, and we spend a half day exploring this unique wilderness area.

Day 6-7 Tarangire National Park, Arusha, Nairobi
We travel to Tarangire National Park and explore the wide savannah dotted with acacia and baobab trees and famous for its large herds of elephant, before returning to Arusha and catching the shuttle bus to Nairobi to end our safari the next day.
